When the engineer who designed it says he's not getting in, that's not just a red flag, that's a flag on fire.

How many here say OceanGate spent those eight hours arguing whether or not they should report Titan missing before actually doing so?

It wasn't a submersible. It was a coffin. Lowering itself into a grave.

Those people got crushed out of existence in a microsecond

They waited 8hrs to let anyone know what happened?

If the guy that designed and engineered it refuses to go, no way it should exist.

I feel the worse for the kid. His Dad forced him to go, he didn’t want to. Stockton Rush killed him.

I can't believe people actually believed they could just be sitting on the ocean floor waiting to be rescued

They want to experience the Titanic but got full experience.

They descended too quick, were about 900 ft from Titanic. They heard noises and saw errors. They dropped weights and over the course of 15 minutes, they barely ascended at all. They knew for 15 minutes that they were doomed. RIP.

i will never again work for an unethical company. imagine knowing that your job is to keep your mouth shut about safety concerns while watching unsuspecting victims get into the sub. all for a little bit of money.

Carbon fiber is used for its lightweight but how does a submersible benefit from being lighter?

Painful how oblivious all of these journalists are being in regards to the final message from the Titan sub. The message saying that they had dropped their weights would mean they were aware of a problem and canceled the dive. Their death might have been painless, however, most of the passengers likely were terrified and uncertian for a long time before the fateful implosion finally occurred.

What did the ghosts on the Titanic order from DoorDash?

The fact that the chief engineer would not get in the submersible should have been a HUGE red flag to those other people.

using a Logitech controller to control the sub says it all.

The chilling last message,
“All is well here.”
Not using that to close a phone conversation any more.

I'm gonna build a sub in my shed and go look for the game controller.

This why I respect the sea it is beautiful but she can be treacherous.

Titanic survivor Eva Hart (1905-1996) once said “… if you scientists, engineers, and industrial geniuses do not finally learn how to temper arrogance with wisdom… then I’m afraid there will be an even bigger Titanic in your future… next time there may be no lifeboats — for anybody.” (From “Ghosts of the Titanic” by Charles Pellegrino, published in 2000, pages 120-121)The Titan submersible’s implosion would not have surprised her.
