I added 1 can of Manwich BOLD, fresh garlic, carmelized red/purple onions and hot sauce for a dish for the homeless shelter. The aroma filled the small soup kitchen and everyone lined up for it. Now they ask when is the Manwich Lady bringing her chuck wagon dish again?. Thanks Angus Kitchen for this great receipt and for others who commented and gave me ideas.

I do a version of this. I'm not a cook just a hungry cowboy. Thanks for the BBQ sauce tip. Most BBQ sauces are loaded with sugar, I have used maple syrup. I prefer to use a dash of vanilla in the final stage of cooking the ground meats (50/50 beef and pork) Then add diced green chilis and black & kidney beans. Fresh sweet red and yellow peppers diced. Sometimes a cup of brown rice and water are added. Then covered and let simmer on the stove top for 30-45 min. I skip the onions so I can share a little bit with the dog. Yeah dogs are family too

It’s kind of chili but not simmered as long. Would go great in rice as well as by itself. I live in ranch country in the mountains of Colorado so I need to make a batch and have some folks over.

Would this go well in tacos? I usually make tacos with my leftover ground beef.

This is pretty much the same recipe minus the jalapeño we cooked onboard Nuclear Submarines when I was cooking on them in the 80s. optional BBQ sauce or sweet relish, best served over mashed potatoes.

I'll try to make it without bbq sauce and ketchup. Just can't do sweet with meat. Maybe with crushed tomatoes and a little W sauce.
I do love most of the recipes here though.

Very similar to our recipe, add green bell pepper and celery and a splash of vinegar. Then serve with buttered bread

3:30 you error here because you say the seeds have the heat when its the pith (white part) that produces the oil that then come in contact with the seeds making them seem hot, its the pith that produces the capsicum not the seeds...

Throw it over some corn bread, or a baked potato.
