I was freaking out thinking this was the procedure for changing the BULB. This is for the entire assembly thank God.

Good stuff man, I changed both headlight asemblies in my 2012 prius no problem. One thing I would say is that complete removal of the front shroud is unnecessary, I just loosened it up so it would hang and the rest was cake. Couldn't have done this without you, thanks!

Okay, so now I'm sure that I will not be doing this myself now! Daddy taught me well, but Daddy also said I am worthy of paying someone to do this for me 😁😂. Thanks for the video!

Pretty easy job, Used these instructions. As other commenters mentioned you do not need to remove all that fog light wiring. Just remove the bumper cover. Lower it a bit and you have good access.

Okay - so now I know why I pay my mechanic 160 bucks to do this. No, I will not be trying this at home.

Just did the work on my 2013 Prius after watching this video. Worked great! Make sure you have spare clips since the old ones get very brittle and break easily.

thank you for making this video. I have a prius thats in perfectly good shape but the lights have yellowed and clouded up from UV damage, I had a detailing body company restor them and install better HD bulbs but they still are not a as clear and bright as they should be so I might replace the whole assemblies

Thank you for such a great tutorial! Watched a handful of times. Easy to follow along as you're DIY'ing. Had no issues during install, even planned ahead with a pack of new clips and replaced all the missing and broken. 😸🥳

It is really a shame for the replacement of a headlight would require this much body removal ... etc ... The clip providing power to my headlights is broken causing the headlight malfunction Warning to come on. I can see the plastic clip but not sure how to unplug it - very tight quarters and IMHO should not be so hard 😢 One side of the plastic plug clip is loose but not loose enough to unplug completely. I just don't want to cause more damage. The car was in an accident 10/2021 and that left headlight was cracked and replaced. I am pretty sure they did not replace the harness since I am now having this problem. Just watching the trouble a tech has to go through to get to these parts brings tears to my eyes. Things do not have to be this difficult! Seems to me the "Engineers" who design these vehicles never consider maintenance ... God Bless

I replaced both the rear tail light assemblies myself and was thinking of doing the headlights next...no way too complicated lol

Thanks for video. Wow, that's a lot of steps. I wish manufacturers would make the headlamps a little easier to replace.

This is a fantastic video. It just showed me why I would rather put in a few hours O/T doing something I already know and have everything I need already
