This guy is the favorite drummer of your favorite drummer's favorite drummer.

There's not a single drummer on the planet that exemplifies the pure joy of drumming like this man does. I'm sure even Santa Claus calls Bernard Purdy when he's feelin' sad. Dude is a true legend and a gigantic ball of positive energy. I'm sure this will be your most memorable Drumeo lesson, man. Pleasure to watch. Great job, guys!

I love how Jared loses control of the lesson right at the start! :) Once you set the Purdie in motion you're done for !!!

Impossible to be in a bad mood with this goofball playing his heart out and loving every moment of it.

i think we need to hear an isolated vocal version

I like how he rocks an unorthodox sounding kit, babbles like a maniac in trance, and has grooves tighter than aztec temple masonry. His Latin suite was a joy to listen to. His New Orleans work was so creamy.

The difference between playing the drums and becoming the drums, this guy and those drums became one... the finest example of "Feeling the rhythm" there is a spiritual connection that takes place when you Feel the rhythm and become one with it.

I don't even play drums and I've already watched 3 videos with Bernard..amazing guy and his passion is infectious. I draw for a living and want to apply these thoughts to traditional art!

This isn't even really a "drum lesson". This is just a man grooving for an hour straight.

And I love it.

I usually watch drum videos with chop-monsters like Thomas Lang or such but this is SO damn refreshing. I can't even put into words how much i like Purdie's tasteful playing and overall philosophy on music, no wonder he is a real legend.

There aren't enough words in the English language to describe how wonderful and amazing this musician is.

A real pleasure to watch. Like having my grandad share his loving thoughts on something, we both love, and have in common. Forget the fact that he's also a Legend?!...

The energy Mr. Purdie brings to the room is infectious, and his drumming...well, it needs no introduction. This is probably the happiest Drumeo episode I've ever seen. My mouth couldn't decide whether to keep dropping the lower jaw at his talent, or smile ear-to-ear at the super-happy vibe he gives off.
What a legend.

Nothing better than those musicians who's personality comes out so clearly in their playing. You feel like you're actually getting to know them by listening

I loved how he talked about how he's done thousands of albums. It shows that you really don't need to have fast hands. The ones that get the call are the ones that serve the music and do not feel served by the music. They put the music over the drums. A selfish drummer kills music very quickly. With his groove, the music is unstoppable!
