This is the Philips Momentum 55” Gaming Monitor. It’s 4K, runs at 120Hz, and is mind blowingly beautiful. Oh and comes with a killer soundbar attached. This is pretty much the ultimate gaming TV!

Ah, I remember the happy days when we sold 50 inch 768p plasma screens for £15, 000

Apart from the HDMI ports not being able to deliver 120Hz and the ghosting issue this would be an ideal monitor for gaming. Maybe they'll fix some of these issues in the next version of the tv and it'll definitely be worth considering for gamers.

Just brought one of these. Let's hope it's as good as it seems..

For the price I'd expect at least HDMI 2.1 on offer, but it's sadly common for many TV ports to be years behind times. So few TVs offer an gigabit Ethernet port for example, most only go up to 100, despite gigabit Ethernet being cheap as chips for years already.

Thank you for this video. What is your experience with ghosting? Would like to hear some valid opinion on that.

I absolutely love 4K 120hz tvs being reviewed as monitors, they are the future and I think they are absolutely the way to go right now.
I use an LG C9 myself and I would strongly recommend one or a CX (even the 48" model) because it sits one inch off the desk. It's so low profile it works perfect.
The only issue with the Philips here is it's too tall and a VA panel. Absolutely worth the extra money for an OLED panel.

This is my first large monitor, which I bought mainly for doing computer art and creating music. It retails in the US for $1, 500. The picture and sound are very good.I know that this monitor is aimed at the gamer market, but I thought that it would be fine as a general- purpose monitor. I was disheartened to learn that the headphone jack was on the back of the monitor. Also, that without the remote the monitor won't work! A friend told me that this was standard in monitors of this class.

Good video, good content! Is it possible to detach the soundbar and use it on its own, say with a separate pc workstation? I have a dedicated sound system for the living room (which this panel would work well with).

A good tv but I still think the LG OLED55CX will take some beating. Admittedly it’s £1399 but with it’s α9 Gen3 AI Processor 4K, HDR, FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility, I don’t think any other TV comes close to picture quality both in films and in games.

Ok I love The review, but please Tell me, when Black bars and subtitles are on in this monitor, how are The hallows?
Blooming? How bright and blind do you feel?

Wait. It's 4ms of Input lag in 1080p 60hz. But if you up it to 4k 120hz the Input lag jumps to 33ms???? That can't be right.

Is this TV better than the LG CX & Sony XH90?

Hey! Just got and I'm experiencing flickering in games. Especially on static scenes. All my drivers are upto date. I'm @4k 120hz and it's being detected as GSYNC display. Any work around 🙁

Hei there, can this monitor do 4k/120hz/hdr/freesync 2/10 bit at the same time through dp 1.4? i don't mind if i reduce the chroma subsampling from 4:4:4 to 4:2:2 or even 4:2:0 because games are not realy affected by it maybe just a lil bit on 4:2:0 but u must have an eagle eye for it. I know it can't do it over hdmi 2.0 cuz of the bandwidth limitation but i wonder if dp 1.4 would be enough to achive 4k/120hz/hdr/freesync 2 (premium pro)/10 bit all at the same time, if you still have it please test for these specs and why not maybe make a video too :) or just a short answer here, i would be glad for it. Thank you.

Can this be used for regular tv use and movie watching or is it solely made for gaming?

Yeah nothing beats my old Baird 1080p 60hz TV with it's sound bar. The volume without distortion from that thing is immense. It has volume up to 100 but mid 20's is the max I've ever used thanks to bad volume leveled videos.

I'm a tech head with my computing/phone/personal audio etc but the TV just doesn't bother me. As a cord cutting anti TV licence proponent, a lot of the alternative sources I use aren't of good enough quality either for an upgrade. My main concern for a TV is hefty energy saving.

There is a newer model with 3x HDMI 2.1. I need advice, the reviewed model is on sale now for approx €1300 which prolly is £1150, so should i jest get it and a converter box HDMI 2.1 to DP to także advatage of high referesh rates while having my PC and ps5 connected? I am assuming the newer model will cost probably £1500. I like this panel and specs, and a fan of b&w although sound bars is not really what they excel at. Thoughts?

Ghosting with the faster/fastests option on smart response mode is not that bad right? Im looking into buying this monitor instead OLED one. LG CX looking good, but theres too many reports it burn in after just less than 1k hours. My pc is basically always on so OLED screen is too scary to use.
