I thought I'd cry at the booth scene but I actually cried more when I saw the mother-son reunion. The way she leaned lovingly over him... Oh, man, my eyes are soaking in tears.

I saw this film at a cinema in 1984 in Soviet Lithuania.

My all time favourite movie. Cannot recommend it enough. I remember the first time I watched it like it was yesterday. No film has ever left an impression on me like this one. I had no idea where it was going in the first half an hour of the movie but, by the end, my jaw was on the floor. Stunning, beautiful movie.

The line that has stayed with me since I first saw Paris, Texas at the age of 14. "I knew these two people".

A perfect film. It gets to me more and more each time I watch it. I watched it for the fourth time a few weeks ago on the big screen. I cried four times. I've never experienced such intense silence in a cinema. The only thing I heard was a gasp of air when Kinski entered the booth for the first time. The whole film is as breathtaking as it is devastating. A PERFECT FILM.

The work on photography and lighting in this movie, IMO, is magnificent, one of the best ones if not the best I've ever seen.

Me and my father's favorite movie. I miss Harry Dean Stanton.

Imagery as a storyline.
Colors as emotions.
Brilliant.

I never tire of saying it.
The mirror scene is one of the best scenes of all time.
I would dare to say that it is the best scene I have seen in a movie

I'm on the spectrum and have ADHD and this movie is like therapy for me. I usually can't watch anything without simultaneously doing something on my phone or thinking of something else, not able to concentrate. This is the first movie that has me so captivated and glued to the screen with my thoughts only on what's happening in this special little world of solitude. It takes its time with each moment but never ever gets boring and that's a testament to everyone's talent that was involved in the making. Of course Harry Dean Stanton is a big reason why this is masterpiece too. I can't put into words how much it means to me and how perfect of a movie this really is. I could speak a thousand words on why it's so beautiful but I try to live more like Travis and let that beauty speak for itself. I don't think I have to use many words because everyone who loves this movie too can understand what I'm feeling. I'm German so it's extra awesome that my favorite movie ever is made by a German director :)

I'd heard a lot about this movie, people saying how sad and emotionally strong it is.
I can confirm the huge feeling that evokes. I've been feeling quite likely to cry the whole day
