Scott, it's great to still see you out here. About ten years ago you really helped me big time. I had a 2002 Diamante that I loved, but the heater core was leaking as they did in those cars. Your advice was to try dropping a couple of GM stopleak tablets in the upper radiator hose. It worked and I never had any issues with that again. You saved me a huge repair bill that I couldn't afford. I'm still grateful for that advice. Hope you're well.

Before I spray lysol, I remove the glove box and access the cabin air filter which I remove. I then spray lysol directly into the area where the filter was and and put the blower fan on high and cycle through the different modes. I let the system run for a few minutes then after about an hour or so reinstall the cabin air filter which in my case is the filter with carbon. If you spray lysol on a glass surface it will leave an oily residue. I don't want that residue to reduce the purpose of the carbon. It is also possible that the oily reside could restrict the flow of air through a non carbon impregnated filter. My 2c

Any aerosol disinfectant spray will work. Lysol, or any of the generic store brands 👍

I just turn my AC off, and run the fan on high speed for a few minutes. It blows out most of the moisture accumulated in the system. Since doing this I no longer have any lingering odors in the vents. The dealer wanted to charge a fortune to spray cleaner/fragrance into my vents with no promise to cure the problem.

Running the fan with ac off before parking for about 7 minutes helps to prevent mildew on the condenser. If the condenser stays wet too long mildew will form....

I've done that with Lysol spray for year! Ford wanted (get this) $165 to blow out my drain and clean the evaporator.

Tip #1: change out the cabin air filter. It’s scary how many people don’t do this

Helps to change or clean your cabin filter also.

Shouldn't you take the cabin filter off beforehand, so the disinfectant could reach the evaporator and the internal passageways in the dash?
