Ac shop tried charging my $1, 060 for a “leaking compressor” took it to another mechanic and the machine displayed passed leak test, they recharged my system with refrigerant and been blowing cold since.

Every time I watch your videos I always learn something new. I've been trained in automotive a/c, and I'm retired in hvac, but my knowledge is always reinforced when I listen to you. I'm 69 and I'm proof that one can not be too old to learn a new way of doing things. I'll be following you until I'm planted in the ground 😎

"all systems leak a little."

Yeah but not that much. If you're having to recharge once a year or more you have other issues.

Blend doors will cause the exact same issue. Cold one side hot the other side.

Its expensive to fix because often the whole dash comes out.

Scotty, have you had mechanics tell you they are not happy that you give all these tips, I mean like they are truly angry about it? No I am not a mechanic and I really appreciate your channel.

This is the 2nd YouTube channel that I've seen that has a video telling you to never recharge your AC by yourself and has another video telling you that you don't need a mechanic and can do it yourself. 👍🏻 This is why I don't trust most mechanics.

If you have access to a set of gauges like Scotty did in this video suggest trying this. Connect low and high side service ports with gauges and engine is not running. Pressures should first be equal and secondly pressure shown match ambient temperature. So if it’s 90 degrees outside the gauge should be reading about 90 psi. So if that’s the case refrigerant charge is not your issue. This is for r134a only systems because of pressure temperature relationship and that particular refrigerant.

My coworkers’ 07 Corolla, he never turn off the aC and it’s always at a max level of fan and temperature. He only top it once a year. 😂

Now that's something I didn't know....that if it's low it might blow cold on the passenger side but not the driver's side....

Some people leave their ac on all the time even when it's not hot. They either forget to turn it off or just don't care. Some people also don't use their emergency brakes (hand brake) when their parked on a uphill or down hill and they wonder why their transmission makes a loud noise when they put it in drive. Always use emergency brakes anytime you park.

2009 camry started blowing semi cool on driver side while ice cold on passenger side. Everyone said compressor or blend door issue. Spent 29.99$ at tractor supply for a recharge and instant freezing cold air on driver side again. THANK YOU

No mechanic will say it but I’m glad Scotty explained the all cars leak regardless of if there is some pinhole in the system or not. Saved my sanity.

That’s exactly what my vehicle was doing. The passenger side was a lot cooler than the driver’s side. I added refrigerant and then got flack from my GX 470 Facebook group for doing it myself. 😂

I did exactly same and my AC is blowing super cold.

Scotty you should’ve posted this 2 days ago here in Canada it was over 115 degrees Fahrenheit or 49 degrees Celsius

So, the right side of the car is cooler. Okay then, I'll just get a right-hand drive car from England, and I'll stay cool all the time! 😁

It'll take another stimulus to replace the bad ac compressor in my 03 Chevy Trailblazer LT that I bought back in March. I did not fill any refrigerant with my a/c pro can since the gauge needle was in the red section and took it to the repair shop the same day and they said my compressor clutch went bad and we dont have any money to get it fixed at the moment so for now we just open the windows when it gets really hot out.
