Is It Safe To Eat Chicken Reared With Antibiotics?

Is chicken reared with antibiotics bad for us when we eat them? Concerns about antibiotic resistance has led more consumers and farmers to turn to farming chickens using probiotics, free-range and organic ways.

Household brand Kee Song, for instance, says its lactobacillus-fed chickens have stronger immune systems. Factory-farmed poultry on the other hand are given antibiotics to keep them well in crowded, caged conditions.

But the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) ensures that the amounts of antibiotic residue in chicken imports are within limits. The price difference with industrial farmed chickens can be 1.5 times more for probiotics-fed, cage-free chickens, and 8 times more for certified organic free-range chickens. So should we be paying more?

at 1:33 he said that bacteria is only lives in digestive system, but when we or butcher or whoever cut open the chicken really know how to properly clean up the inside, we're talking about microorganism that have been thrive and survive for thousand of years in this planet

While It is true that cooking chicken will kill any bacteria, the issue is should the meat contain resistance bacteria, It is almost impractical to contain the spread across the house during food preparation process. Moreover, antibiotics should be treated as a stop gap measure as the antibiotics resistance bacteria become more common thus increase the need for even more antibiotics. Increasing the hygiene of the farm or using the natural way to combat bacteria should be more emphasized

Humans have become antibiotic resistant, no matter what this fellow says, he is paid to do so! Plus, rearing chickens in cramped cages is we eat those chickens we become part of the problem! Bad karma is unavoidable!

Yes but we all know that in some countries people eat parts of the digestive system of the chickens.

Based on my personal experience, after stop eating chicken from Factory Farming for 1 year. Everytime eating regular chicken, I ll get itch on my skin. Dunno why is antibiotic or simply my body just being sensitive to it. From now on, I just eat non farming fish & vegetable.

Bullshits, I never seen stupid doctor like this, one say to make the meat tender, and one say protein are only inside a digestive system, I want to ask that doctor, if u eat protein, do u think the protein will be in your digestive system only and does not link to other part of your body like muscle, skin, hair? What kind of doctor is this? Even if a chicken is cooked, it won't kill the protein unless deep-fried above 250°. So like home and restaurant cook the protein are still there when we eat. I think The reason they are using protein is to make the chicken grow bigger and fatter, it is like you take a steroid in your body. Sorry to say I have stopped eating chicken for over 5 years now and I can feel the difference in my health, especially on my skin.

Doh! It's not the antibiotic residue that's the problem, it's the resistant bacteria that proliferate in the intensive farm environment. They then swap genes with other 'bad' bacteria to become pathogens - it's not possible to confine these to the farm, no matter what the biosecurity measures are...

The problem is not the bacteria of the chickens at the time of cooking them to eat, but the low amounts of antibiotics that remain in the chicken's flesh when we eat it. The small amount of antibiotics coming to our body has the potential to cause bacterial resistance in our bodies. We all have different types of bacteria in our bodies, which most of them cause no harm, but they can become opportunistic and cause disease when our immune systems go down, and, also with non-pathogenic bacteria, they can become a problem if they become resistant to antibiotics and proliferate beyond the ability of our body to deal with them.

One thing is clear to see this now..you can see all medicinal chemistry in plants and dairy product with standards all that..need chemical balance..which will take 30 years at least for the whole world...to come at that level.
