The timing is a nice touch, flips the blade while your hand is farthest away. I wonder if the creator found that out the hard way lol.

I have one similar to it in my collection. Most of my blade honers are family heirlooms from my grandpa and great grandpa. I also have several vintage razors and still use many of them.

I think the teeth gears are a part of the slanted angle. Because its easier to build that way, less parts, same functionality
