The Valet Auto Strop Safety Razor was an excellent choice among discerning gentlemen in the 1930s and 1940s. Proudly made in England, these razors were famous for their unique sharpening mechanism. It features a leather strap that can be worn over the head, allowing the blade to be sharpened like a barber does. This innovative feature keeps Valet razors sharper longer, resulting in a superior shaving experience. A timeless piece of personal care history.

I love how the 1900s products look. it all had a purpose, and it was easy to use. It's almost like they enjoyed working and creating things that help make people's lives easier.

Old products had so much heart and soul put into it. Purpose-made. Functional for life.

I have one of these razors! It is one of the best shaves I have gotten from a razor, no bumps, ingrown hairs, or cuts. Mine is an older model and came in a metal case.

I got one of these at an antique store for about $20. Uses double sided razors and I love it so much, I’m never going back to the expensive razors I’d get at the store

I will never go away from a classical single blade shave that gives me the smoothest shave I've ever felt

I wish they still made stuff like this.

Nice video! I've used an antique Gillette Safety Razor since the early 90's. I heard a long time ago (I don't remember where) that you can strop a double sided blade with the inside of a glass cup. I've done it since and my blades last a really long time. And, I bought a bunch of blades that were on sale (still in the 90's lol) that I still use. The old razors really do give a better shave, I think.

I have one of this (but isn't vintage razor). I really love it, I've never needed a disposable razor

It is interesting to see a product made long ago with such elegance, precision, honesty and dedication to perfection and it lasts a lifetime and may be passed down through generations while our progress made us create garbage, plastic, pollution and other disasters in our present time and in the end some of them do not last and you throw them away after the first use and there is no comparison with these artistic masterpieces that are beautiful and elegant and work well and last with dedication❤

99cents for that - no wonder people were buying houses for $3000

The elegancy of the razor and the fact that it comes with its own sharpener, shows the dedication they had back in the day and focused on quality over quantity

Best shave ever right there. While I usually prefer the straight razor, I can’t deny the quality of a good safety razor

Did you see that? It was the pinnacle of your civilization: tools and machines built to last, one purchase for life, no plastic, no trash, no greed. Today we are doomed.

I am so sad that I didn't take my papas razor shavers like this when he passed away. They're so nostalgic.❤

Everything is a collectible if you collect it. I would never have thought to look for old razors. This is like the day I found out about makeup or lighters 😂 Subscribed!

Esa maquinita con la hojita de afeitar, me trajo recuerdos vivos de mi viejo. Maravilloso.

Great editing! I know from experience it’s NOT easy to make a good short format video. I subscribed. I have a vc1 & vc2 valet. I use despined gem blades in them. The vc2 is more efficient yet still smooth.
