No meat for 30 days? A doctor reveals what really happens to your body and health

What if you considered eliminating meat instead of focusing only on meat-based diets? While many debate between carnivore and vegan approaches, Dr. Livingood explains who might benefit from going meat-free for 30 days and what physical changes you can expect. Your perspective on dietary "tools" might completely change.

This isn't about whether plant-based or animal-based diets are universally "better." Instead, I'm showing you when going meat-free becomes a helpful tool for specific health challenges. Are you dealing with inflammatory conditions, cardiovascular issues, or cancer? Discover why temporarily eliminating meat might be worth considering as part of your approach.

Every dietary change comes with both benefits and challenges. Learn about potential nutrient concerns including B12, iron, and protein when eliminating meat. Understand how your energy levels and muscle mass might be affected and what supplements could help maintain optimal health during a meat-free period.

Is going vegetarian or vegan right for YOUR specific condition? This depends entirely on your current health status. What foods should you prioritize when going meat-free? Which common vegetarian substitutions should you approach with caution? The answers are more nuanced than most realize.

Learn how to safely reintroduce meat after your 30-day experiment with minimal digestive distress. Discover the simple tests that reveal whether this approach is helping your unique body. Watch now to understand when meat elimination becomes a useful health tool - and when another approach might serve you better.

My husband nearly lost his ability to walk due to psoriatic arthritis. He watched Forks Over Knives and followed Dr. McDougall. Vegan and no oil. He lost weight, dropped cholesterol 60 points and was able to walk soon! This from a serious meat eater. He did it cold turkey!

THANK YOU for mentioning the "fake" meat issue. It is a subject no one talks about. I never thought it was a good idea to eat that stuff and I am very encouraged to hear it is possible without it.

I keep hearing people said plant based diet are the best but I’m not convinced. Every time I eat more vegetables and fruits I have stomach issues but I feel a lot better eating meat and sometimes bread. I have a co-worker who’s a vegetarian. She’s younger than me but she looks like a grandmother. She has no muscle mass and her face has sunken in. So I am not convinced that a plant based is more superior than meat based.

I started cooking meatless meals years ago. Had to... funds were extremely tight living on Disability. Vegetarian Chili over Polenta! A Vegetable Stuffed Sourdough Boule... seasoned with Pesto, Vegetarian Pepper Jack Cheese - Vegetables grilled on the grill...(Portobello Cap, thickly sliced RED OR SWEET Onion, Eggplant, Red Pepper, seeded and cut in half - pole to pole, thickly sliced lengthwise zucchini} then layered in Pesto painted, cheese lined Boule... topped with another slice of the cheese, top to the bread painted with Pesto. Wrapped in Parchment, then foil... (it should NEVER touch the food - if you don't know why, the aluminum leeches into the food... it is the reason they stopped making aluminum cookware which is what I grew up on) so, then shut off the grill, place wrapped package on the grill, shut the lid, leave for 10 - 15 Minutes... THEN open and cut into wedges... BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD... Soups galore! Vegetable LOADED Frittata's topped with Herbed Goat Cheese crumbles found at Aldi's and oh my is this good.

FINALLY! A meat-eater who is open-minded enough and non-dogmatic enough to acknowledge that a vegetarian diet COULD have some benefits and that vegetarians and vegans don't exist purely to embarrass them!
Sheesh, man, we need more like you, who could even go to the extent of suggesting that being a vegetarian for the sake of the planet or to avoid cruelty and violence to animals is NOT the evil thing to do. People who pretend that it is, are exactly like those who 'believe' that two different sexes do not exist or that there was no pogrom by the Nazis.
This, I am saying as a meat-eater myself, so don't anybody bring up that lame claim of bias.

I appreciate that there is no one-size-fits-all ways to eat, everyone's body is totally different. I was born in 1955 so grew up on 'convenience' foods, and never ate vegetables that I can remember, and my health proves that.
I get confused with overwhelming "fast talking" that throws out SO much information and can not absorb any of the information, I just stare at the screen.
I think background sounds in videos is disruptive and ruins the integrity/class of the video's intent... I think the background 'music' in this particular video sounds like this is a carnival.
I appreciate Dr. Livingood, he seems to be such a good person, and obviously is very intelligent, it's great how he intrinsically breaks down the WHY's about things to explain everything, but I just can't follow along.
Thanks for trying to help everyone, you're a 'good egg' as they say :)

My body is addicted to meat. I have been vegan for 3 weeks and losing noticeable internal fat. It’s tough though as other 3 family members eat meat, eggs, cheese and yogurt.

I eat red meat probably once or twice a month. Every time I eat it my stomach is not happy. And I know it’s me and not the food bc everyone else is fine. I feel much better with poultry and fish but I don’t eat them daily. I could live on homemade butternut squash soup and salad 😂

I stop eating meat in January 2024 due to a Netflix documentary my wife and I watched “You are what you eat” and the first month of no meat my wife thought something was wrong with me due to losing 25 pounds. I was 205lbs and dropped to 175, I was muscular physique guy, worked out maybe twice a week if able.My energy levels dropped but my feet didn’t hurt lol. But we turned to lions Maine mushrooms and tofu as a meat substitute lots of beans and vegetables daily and cut out a lot of sugar and dairy. Now it’s been over a year and I’m walking 11000 steps per day states my Ultrahuman ring and working out sat and sun only due to work schedule. I’m struggling but gradually gaining a pound here and there, finally at 180lbs my muscle mass seems to be coming back. But I do make a protein shake with my one a day vitamin, banana, honey, and peanut butter and spinach leafs as my breakfast and lunch. My blood work results have significantly changed since the Prior year results in a good way. But I have to be honest I am craving some chicken wings
My weekly diet consist of
Shrimp, salmon, tilapia, lentil beans, red beans, brown beans, Black Eyed Peas beans, spinach, kale, greens, tofu and I want something different

“If you knew how food is processed you would never eat meat again.” Butcher featured in Eating Ourselves to Extinction. I went vegan and never felt better and helping to save creation. I get more good protein now than ever before. Get the Forks Over Knives recipes.

I sure wish you were here in north Georgia. You and your beautiful wife wouldn't by any chance be looking to move to the Ellijay/Blue Ridge area would you? 😬 Love your videos. Read your book and looking forward to being healthy. Thank you!!
