Goodness Gracious. I was just about to jump into the old fashioned thinking of "HP printer doesn't work anymore, gotta throw it out and get a new one". Then I found your video. I have black fingers, I used one whole package of Q-tips, but IT WORKED. My Envy 4504 is now printing again. I cannot thank you enough. It is so important that we do not automatically throw out stuff, just because we think it is broken. Humanity needs to re-use much more - your video just helped another human do just that.

Another tip! For us newbs, to avoid cotton getting stuck in there, use foam swabs instead. It's great for cleaning small space electronics and is even used on camera lenses. Excellent video! Many thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Worked for me - it took a few prints and me also cleaning the output area of the ink cartridge as well but wow, I got a ton of GUNK out of my printer - 6 q-tips, both sides and tweezers!!!

Thank you so much! There was actually a "pyramid type tab" under my black cartridge which I removed. Printing fine now. Was about to buy a new printer. You saved me a huge headache!

I have a bit of a similar model (HP Deskjet 3055A) at least as it looks from the inside.
Like your printer in the video, mine won’t print black ink.
I cleaned out well a similar area you indicated in the video, but it still won’t print black.
Can you advise me on what I might be doing wrong? Thank you!
