3 US Marshals killed, 5 officers hurt in North Carolina shooting, police say

Three members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force were killed and five police officers were hurt at a scene in North Carolina on Monday, according to authorities.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force was trying to serve a warrant around 1:30 p.m. "when they were engaged by active gunfire from a subject," the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said on X, which is the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
