My forced air furnace kept cycling and even a quality new filter kept getting sucked in. So I called the company that installed it. They added cleats inside to keep the filter from getting sucked in. The furnace still kept cycling. I did a LOT of research and then on my "Own" did an air balance test & found not enough return air. I investigated to find 1 of the 2 returns was restricted to 5"x 5" where the 1st was 5"x 30". I extended the main return trunk to catch a different wall and added 2 in wall return grills (Return Air Filter Grille for 1" Filter - Removable Face/Door) and put hydro-static rinse out filters (Eco Plus Washable FPR 4 Air Filter). Now my filters are not in the basement and I even added a smart filter sensor that texts me when the air pressure tells me the filter needs my attention. (Air Filter Monitor, Model FS-245-C)
Furnace runs great and is super efficient and quiet. My whole home is smart so the expense of adding all this was so worth it.
