My father was a narcissist, My sister and brother are both narcissistic and I fell in LOVE with a narcissistic man. They know exactly what they are doing and HOW they are treating people. They Believe they are 'better than anybody else. EVIL is the only word to disscribe them. It's a passed on trait.

My life has been destroyed (so far) by two narcissist parents. I have been thinking recently that they may know what they are doing, but perhaps they are not fully aware of the pain they actually cause to others by the things they do. This kind of makes sense to me considering their lack of empathy and their delusional world view that they are unique. Not sure
