We review the LG 27GS95QE OLED gaming monitor with MLA+ OLED panel, 240Hz refresh rate & 1440p resolution, occasionally comparing it to last year's 27GR95QE, the Asus XG27AQDMG OLED monitor with glossy screen, as well as the Alienware AW2725DF QD-OLED monitor.

The "Includes Paid Promotion" message in this video refers to the sponsorship by LG UltraGear who asked us to review this monitor. We accepted the sponsorship only on the condition that we get to maintain 100% editorial independence, which is why this video is exactly like our unbiased technical reviews where we point out the pros and cons of the display being tested, so potential buyers can make an informed decision.

Thank you for this! Ended up getting this monitor. Games look absolutely stunning and the brightness is fine even in bright day conditions (indoors of coarse). I didn't even notice the matte coating, it's absolutely something to see in person before crying it's not glossy. Only issue is the silly Windows text. Text in games looks perfect, so it's ridiculous that Windows text looks so bad.

I'm still waiting for the holy grail monitor: 27" 4K OLED with high refresh rate 😔 LG makes an ultrafine that checks all the boxes except it's 60 Hz, and there are plenty that are only 1440p. But once you see the clarity of 4K at 27" it's hard to go back. Apparently late 2025 is when they're expected.

WOW. this is what I wanted. THANK YOU!!

You showed that this monitor DOES have the ability to run Pixel Care ( 1:28 ) when you want. This is a HUGE factor for me. I had an MSI version that I loved I could run the pixel refresh when I wanted, (when eating or having a smoke) so that it never interrupted my gaming. BUT it had a dead pixel, so I am switching brands. I couldn't find this anywhere else. Thank you for your work!!

Is it not a bit insane that it lacks an HGiG mode? My 3 year old LG OLED TV (C1) has it, so why should a LG gaming monitor lack it?

I'm not sure which would be the best option for games? LG 27GS95QE or ASUS XG27AQDMG or Samsung G60SD? and in your opinion in general, which one is better?

they were selling the 2024 model for $550 brand new during prime sale, great value when it’s on sale.

I'm still waiting for a 27-inch 4K 120Hz OLED monitor

Vincent – everyone is waiting for you to review the Bravia 9 TV, I know you are quite thorough but when it does come out it would have less clicks than you normally have, because others would have already reviewed it and done and dusted.

8:36 I thought OLED was good no matter the viewing angle? So its like IPS where it gets darker from looking at on side?

At 6:24 you recommend setting the ps5 to 600nits?
Could you tell us how many clicks from the minimum that is when we go to the Adjust HDR setting? My research says it would be 12 clicks, but that cannot be correct??? I can VERY clearly see the sun on the calibration menu when calibrating for 600 nits. The sun starts disappearing around click 22 or 23 for me??

Is this the recommended HDR setting for all HDR content (including streaming services like D+) or just games?

I would suggest to disable cleartype on windows. I was very close to return this monitor, because the borders of the displayed text look so bad. But deactivating cleartype solved it for me 🙂. Still it is not a productivity monitor by any means.

When are you reviewing the M4 iPad Pro? I'm curious about test results and your subjective impressions. But most importantly, if your 12 pro HDR settings advice applies to the tandem OLED. I've turned off true tone and autobrightness for HDR and OMFG the night skies in Apple TV+ "Earth at Night" look stunning. Those individual stars shine bright af. Looks like a planetarium with fixed fiberoptic LEDs. However, the panning cinematic shots were sturrery AF. Motion handleling looked really bad in my eyes at least. Software issue that Apple can solve?
