Hey Chaps! Would you ever use this in 480Hz Mode??

That bottom bezel makes this monitor look so good. I don't know why most monitors still have a larger bottom bezel, compared to the other sides.
Except for Zowie, they still use bezels from the 90s.

So much better than the grey blacks on QDOLED in anything but a dark room.

Returned a G8 OLED monitor because of it. Sticking with WOLED from now on.

That 480hz 1080p was an instant deciding factor for me, I been waiting for a monitor like this since the razer laptops started doing the dual mode screens

Awesome video. I wish you would have demo’d the speaker quality.

i have this Monitor for my PS5 Pro and holy smokes... the image quality, the picture quality, the graphics, the sharpness, the colors and absolutely everything is incredible. i cannot say this enough. This monitor is an absolute beast, i mainly care about the image quality and picture 4K that's why i got it plus OLED my gosh the Blacks on this thing is amazingly dark inky i love it!!! I'm Coming from Sony inzone M9 4K ips 27" monitor and it was an awesome monitor but this right here is different Game Changer, also the "matte coating on the display is not grainy at all or very mattey, its more like matte and glossy put together in one, it really is nice to look at and the most amazing part of all of this, it went on sale for $400 off so i paid $999.99 plus tax instead of retail price of $1399.99 plus tax, i got it at Best Buy

The reason why 1080p at 32 inches looks better than cropped is because 4K to 1080p is a perfect 4:1 ratio so it’s utilising 4pixels whereas the crop isn’t a perfect scaling.

Matte finish vs glossy QD-OLED, $1399 vs $899+ QD-OLED, zero burn-in warranty vs 3yr QD-QOLED.

Sure, 480hz mode is cool, but the negatives severely outweigh positives.

At 07:40 you are measuring Lux which do not equal nits. At 10% white window both monitors should be at around 500nits.

It's DOA at the price they're asking.
The QD-OLED options are both cheaper and better, offering glossy panel coating, similar levels of SDR & HDR peak brightness, actual burn-in warranty. Minus that niche 1080p480hz mode.

I thought the LG WOLED panel would have better peak brightness levels with all that MLA tech they're marketing, but it seems to be gimped in this monitor to the point that it isn't any brighter than the competing QD-OLED panel.

monitors unboxed just reviewed this reach out to lg and ask them why they don't support burn in warranty the other manufacturers like asus msi and gigabyte support 3 year burn in warranty vs lg default 2 year warranty

Great review and thank you for showing a comparison with the Asus QD-OLED. Hope to see a more detailed comparison if possible!

LG should have gone with a glossy panel. On top of that, they don't offer any burn-in warranty.

UK/EU RELEASE DATE: LG have just told me that a UK/EU release date has not yet been scheduled, which they say means it will definitely not be available before May for these regions. Bear in mind that LG aren't particularly consistent or reliable with their communications, so this info could mean something... or it could mean absolutley nothing :/

At 8:00 how are you getting 800 nits out of those clouds in HDR mode on the PG32UCDM? On all HDR modes - Gaming, Cinema and Console (P1000) modes they're much dimmer on other PG32UCDMs. I'd be interested to know your settings, or whatever you could've changed to achieve this.

There's been a lot of discussion regarding the aggressive ABL behaviour of these new QD-OLED panels, which seem to be even worse on the PG32UCDm specifically.
I can't post links here, but on reddit, the OLED_Gaming sub and the official ASUS forum there's a lot of unsatisfied people with worse than expected HDR brightness performance in mid to high APL scenes.

Thanks for any additional information you can provide!
