Global Flexion and Extension Prying:

As part of a daily routine I complete one of these for every year of my life... ⏰

Similar to the yoga down dog and up dog 🐕 with the addition of ‘prying’ of the hips are both ends.
^
^
Prying refers to gentle rhythmical movements from side to side switching where your putting the force through your body.
^
^
Practice creating tension in the up dog by squeezing the quads, glutes and keeping the elbows straight.
^
^
By looking over each shoulder it will also help you to pry open the contralateral hip more than the other.
^
^
On the down dog part focus on lifting the tail, keeping the knees just unlocked and then prying from side to side (walking the dog) 🐶
^
^
Try adding a extra component by bringing the leg across the body for the last x10 reps on the up dog and/or reaching for the opposite ankle on the down dog phase 🐕
^
^
Try to keep the hips slightly internally rotated and avoid hyperextending the knees 🦵🏻
