How Can You Tell if a Pearl is Real in 3 Seconds (Pearl + Vinegar = ??)

I recently visited Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam and treated myself to a gorgeous pearl necklace…
But then, while browsing the night market, I noticed plenty of pearls that looked pretty similar.
Not one to settle for anything less than genuine, I hit the web to figure out how to tell the real pearls from the fakes.
Let me tell you, there was a bunch of questionable info out there!
But don't worry! I've sorted through it all and put together four simple ways to spot authentic pearls.

same with diamonds if its truly flawless its manufactured, natural diamonds always have flaws and inclusions and thats how you know they are natural.

Or you could just rub them on your teeth. If they feel smooth they are fake, feel scratchy and gritty and they are real. Saves on the oil and doesn't harm the pearls!

real pearls feels like sandpaper on ur teeth an if ur not sure then theyre prob fake and not real because fake pearls are very smooth on ur teeth

I wet my fingertip with water then place a small drop onto the pearl. The coarse texture of a real pearl results in a perfectly round droplet. If the droplet is misshapen the pearl is fake.

Just rub them on your teeth. Sandpaper-like feel -> they're real

...or, just use a drop of vinegar on a pearl close to the clasp? 😅 Shell pearls will not react.
