It won't matter to bank you can tell the difference, it is still your responsibility to pay them back even after months of deposit if teller claimed it is counterfeit.

Just go to your bank, Tell them this is a fake check & you want to report this business for fraud. Make it clear your not here to cash it & don't sign the back, either. Maybe, if enough people do this, this fraudulent activity will end.
