Self twirling forks, a vegetable sharpener, a tea tool and a breakfast toaster. We reckon James and Ben's heads might explode if they caught us using these BUT useless or not? You decide.

You can find out more about the gadgets/ingredients we've reviewed in the links below. Just so you know, these are likely to be affiliate links, which means if you buy something from the store after clicking on them, the store will pay us a percentage of your basket... To quote the great Alton Brown, "I only have room in my kitchen for one unitasker, and that's a fire extinguisher."

I bought the sharpener because I needed a peeler, and they said it had good grip.
Honestly it's a lot of fun to sharpen stuff into soups.

Anyone else cringe when he bit down on the fork while it was still spinning?

Jam a carrot on the twirly fork and go to town with the carrot sharpener. BAM! Instant value pack!

My aunt uses the fork that spins for you because she has severe arthritis in her hands and pretty much all her joints so, it helps her a lot and she finds it very entertaining, which I am sure is all that really matters <3

A lot of these gadgets are actually designed with disabled people in mind. Someone with one hand might struggle to squeeze out the teabag against the side of the mug with out knocking it over for example. But to get these things into production and into the hands of those that need them, they have to market them to a wider audience. That's why infomercials are so insane, because they're designed for a disabled individual not clumsy Sally who drops things so magically. A big success of this is actually the snuggie, they're designed for wheel chair users! Getting a coat onto a wheel chair user is quite hard! So snuggie to the rescue! The more you know!

I was really worried James would lose some teeth using that twirling fork.

I honestly think that the first few "gimmick" tools were meant more for the disabled than anyone that was able bodied. Some of the arthritis patients I've worked with would love that tea tool when they're having a flare up. I think they're quite useful in the right hands

I’ve fallen in love, in an afternoon and a night, with five gentlemen and a gentle laugh occasionally coming from behind the camera

If that tea tool will stop my sodding girlfriend from using a spoon to stir her tea and then putting the wet spoon BACK INTO THE SUGAR JAR then I'm here for it.

I would be cautious in judging some of these.... a lot of these "useless" gadgets (for example the spiral fork or the tea bag squeeze thing) are actually geared for the elderly or people with disabilities that make dexterity difficult. A lot of these devices are very necessary for people with even common conditions like arthritis, but the problem is it's very hard to turn a profit on something with such a niche market, so they have to be marketed to the general public. That's why you get those ridiculous infomercials where able-bodied people absurdly mess up simple tasks like pouring juice - because there is a significant portion of the population that DOES have problems performing that task.

James, my man. I can feel your anger. I see how much effort you put in keeping the reviews PG13.

Don't.

Release your inner kraken and call bullshit when bullshit presents itself.

I love how triggered Jamie and Barry were at James and Ben's attempts to make tea

I didn't even think about the fork for someone with disabilities 'till I read the comments. Indeed, that does seem like it has a place.

James' grumpiness towards the gadgets really made this video.

The spinning fork would most likely be useful for people with arthritis, Parkinson's or other physical impairments. It's not that stupid and looks like a pretty good product.

The only one of these I personally find useful, is the twirling fork cause I know some people whose hands're janky and can't really pick up pasta themselves. The others can just go away. [especially anything to do with teabags. Just no.

I love how they show the reactions of the guys not just the chefs!
