A colour changing egg timer, hands free can opener, self stirrer & metal soap. Are any of them actually going to be useful?? The chefs do a lot of actual cooking in this episode to really put the gadge to the test!

I love that Ben took mobility issues into consideration when critiquing the can opener. That is something that often gets overlooked so ty ☺️

I laughed every time James lost control of the device and his first response instead of turning it off is to yell "stop!" at it. 😂

Thank you Ben for recognizing that "gadgets" that appear useless to many people are God-sends to folks with different abilities.

Ben got it spot on, my mom has arthritis bad enough she cant fully close her hands but she still loves to bake, the automatic can opener saves her alot of time (and pain). She makes pumpkin bread alot and that alot of cans of pumpkin XD

you should do an ultimate battle or pass-it-on thing but you can only use the unitaskers.

I grew up with a magnetic and electric tin opener because my dad only had one hand. Definitely helpful for people with disabilities 👍

Last moments were just precious. Ben the crestfallen mum expression and Jamie the “I wasn’t that bad....” kid expression...

I loved that you addressed the numerous comments about disabilities! Also the stirrer is probably the worst according to me because it will clearly never get the middle of a pot stirred

I have a feeling that your benchmark for purchasing these items is entirely “how much will James hate these?”

My family has been using the egg timer thing for my whole life and this changed how we used it. Keeping it in the fridge makes changes everything

Legit those egg timers have been around since the 70's at LEAST! I totally learned to hard-cook eggs on those in the 80's! Mom and gramma had one! Don't use them now but my sis still does! This was far less dramatic than other gadget videos, we need more drama and angry James!! Y'all can do no wrong, more videos please!!

The stirrer annoyed me the most; because its actually a really good idea (again, people with issues like arthritis), but its been really badly executed and the schmucks probably patented it so no one smarter can do it right.

It’s really fantastic to see you all listening to the comments and being big enough to admit when you didn’t test a gadget properly :) it’s heartening to see the level of your engagement with your community.

It’s also really wonderful to see Ben acknowledging the diversity of people who might try to cook! Sometimes we all need to take a step back and remember there are lots of other people out there, I think. Thanks for another great vid, all!

I appreciate y’all mentioning the use of the can opener! My mom got one similar for Christmas when I was little, which was awesome because she is paralyzed on one side, and my sister and I always had to be there to help her open cans. She used it for years and then it died and immediately bought another one. I remember how happy it made her when she first started using it :)

I think that Barry should do some of the Dad jokes of the week too :-D since he graduated in to that position :-D

Alton brown talked about that stainless steel bar before and how basically anything stainless steel will work... So you can use a spoon or just about anything

Thanks for acknowledging the accessibility problems the electric can opener might solve for some people! That sort of thing isn't pointed out enough and I appreciate it.
