Thank you for making this video. I had failed a state emissions inspection because they couldn’t keep a live connection to my OBD2 port. Watched your video. Identified three not so tight pins. Tightened. Passed emissions. Saved me time and money.

You actually were to the point! No 1 minute intro/music/logo... so many will take us from pulling out the car keys... opening the door... looking for a connector.. can't find it ... finally after 5 minutes they get to the point. Thank you for a concise video. Helped!

Thank you for the instruction! Just a heads up if anyone sees this: after fixing the loose pins, still no connection, so I adjusted all of them. Still no connection. On a lark, I started testing fuses and a 7.5 fuse in the engine bay was blown. After replacing it, I regained the ability to connect to the OBD port. So if you're having trouble after doing this, check your fuses.

You are truly a life saver! I couldn’t find anyone who explains how to open the OBD II port on my 2014 Camry to fix the pins. You gave such a great detailed explanation it would be impossible to not be able to do it and I really appreciate your clear explanations! Thank you so much!

Spent a while watching other videos which all tried to sell me something, one guy even told me to email the manufacturer of my scan tool because it won't connect!

Found this: subbed. Thanks bud.

Thank you for creating this video. I thought seeing the metal thing was great. However if you ever need a great photo when photographing diamond
Back up at least 4-6 feet if possible. Then zoom in using even a cheap cell camera. It really works. Evaluate different distances of how far the camera is from the item. This technique can create excellent pictures.

That's a K-Line right!? ISO 14230 - I think the EODB is required... someone seeking a CAN connection may be surprised! Always check that you finally try the EOBD (basic) search when no communication with regular scan tool search by mfg.. Love your work Man!!

Great review which truly shows how rough some folks are when plugging in devices to the OBDII port. Those pins didn't get larger on their own so it only shows that previous users of the port were not gentle enough or had the wrong type of equipment in past uses. I swear that a lot of mechanics or technicians are worse than the faulty parts on cars and trucks due to their collateral damage abuse when working on other peoples property. I 've seen first hand how mechanics will damage other parts when getting access to the parts they want to replace or test. Unbelievable mental capacity. What they are really thinking about is what the book time is to do a job and in order to make the job profitable, they have to complete their work in the time allowed in the book. Not so...those times are based on brand new vehicles with zero wear, clean, healthy plastic etc. vs. 5 years later when things are stuck, brittle, tight, rust, road film etc.

I hope you post a part 2, it would be a fun workup for a vehicle running rich....

Thank You! Your video is exactly what I needed. Repair a pin. Up until now, my search for OBD2 connector loose only came back with "Replace connector".

It didn't help my problem, but I did improve the condition of some of my pins. You are spot on in your video and techniques. Thanks.

Great video, sir! Par for the course! My theory is that somebody jammed a volt-meter probe in there. Why I think that??? BECAUSE I'VE DONE IT Rock on,

This totally helped my wife’s Grand Cherokee which I haven’t been able to connect to for years. It seems the mechanics can do it but I can’t with mine or the scanners from the auto parts stores. I’m guessing the expensive models have larger pins? Anyway I tightened every terminal and it connected first time. Thank you so much!
