1 thing i forgot to mention is that the ABS tester must be ABS compatibel meaning it can read that system.

What's with everybody complaining? This is solid FREE info. No communication with a module? Either the module is bad or there is an electric connection issue. He cant look inside your specific module and pull your exact reason why out his ass. Jesus.

I had the same problem with a 4 system Autel scanner. You need an All System Diagnostic scanner. ABS is part of Chassis system so you need a scanner that reads Chassis modules.

So if the ABS module is unplugged, it will not communicate with a scanner. Brilliant! LOL

I have a year 2009 Chrysler Town and Country ABS light anti a lot lights are on but if lights in contraction control lights are on and it all started after I had a sensor of replacing stem valve replaced in my right rear tire and they said my brake modular went out went through to rebuilt in the computer system apparently is not reading the codes on none of them

Could a broken wire in the abs circuit result in failure to communicate?

I was having the same problem with a Kia Soul ABS, TRACTION CONTROL HAND BRAKE, LIGHTS ON., and no brakes at all and the ECM wouldn't connect with the abs module. I replaced the abs module same thing, replaced the cylinder same thing replaced all abs sensors same thing. Vehicle was towed to the Dealership for Diagnostic they suggested the same thing to replace all that had been already replaced, after all i suspect that a faulty wire might have been the culprit, but is already at the dealership let's see what they come up with.
