Something weird: the most common axolotl IRL is a green speckled one. Most wild axolotls from Lake Xochimilco are green.

I found the lush cave and there were plenty of these axolotls and I was lucky to get a blue one as well

So I didn't know about the Axolotl not being naturally persistent. I was on a server that for whatever reason freely gives out axolotls for voting or doing whatever. I decided to build a see through floor with them so everybody could see them....and then they all disappeared. I'm talking like 12 of them just gone when I came back. Good to know I can try again and use a bucket to make them persistent. I kinda feel bad for essentially killing them all before.

That was a helpful video. Axolotls are cute but I never knew what to do with them until now. I might try to breed a few for either a blue one or two defend the ocean monument I took over.

I hadn’t played Minecraft for a while and I’d never seen one before. I was in a lush cave and I assumed it was a mob from one of the mods I’d installed. I killed them because I thought I’d get some new loot or something. I am regretting that now knowing how helpful they can be.
