I did Model Un high school and college. I highly recommend especially in college. That's where I meant most of my friends from.

coming back here a little late but i did my first MUN!! i didn't get an award but i talked a lot, i was a sponsor of my bloc's reso, our reso passed, and i got pretty good feedback from the dais! i also got voted most diplomatic by my fellow committee members so yay!! thank you so much for this video, will definitely be going to more conferences from now on!

As a middle schooler going into high-school, I have been attending Model UN's for 2 years now, and I could not recommend it more to those who wish to expand their knowledge on debate, and foreign affairs. One tip I like to share with those who are fresh into MUN is to not panic! Yes, of course, it seems pretty intimidating, but with time you learn to love shouting, debating, and coming to a common consensus with other fellow delegates(coming from an aggressive MUN student)

My first conference was a month or 2 ago. Let’s just say it was eventful.
I “Ireland” allied with China, inadvertently suggest the dumping chemical weapons into the ocean, instead of dismantling them safely, because Mexico was crying about the lengthy process, got 4 amendments failed, some guy in an environmental committee pulled the Nerf gun on someone, I won commended delegate, my 5 allies betrayed me, I got ejected for 5 minutes and yeah. More on top of that.

I have been doing MUN since middle school and this has got to be one of the definitive videos of how to tryhard a conference cuz most of my experience has been just being overly confident as a veto power in security council without doing any prior research and still winning an honourable mention or best delegate. PS I've never seen gavels handed out for best delegate however I've only been to European conferences so maybe a regional thing.

I have only been to one confrence, yestarday. Didn't watch any tips, but managed to win best delegate, while also being on the losing side, and not getting our resolution passed. Heres some tips I kinda figured out on my own. Talk as much as you can, and if you have over 20 seconds left, yield it to someone in your block. Make a system so from the podium, you can see who wants you to yield it to them. Write notes as much as possible in the early stages, so first unmod you basically already have a block. Its sometimes better to be assertive than to have all the facts in perfect order. DONT USE PERSONAL PRONOUNS THE DIAS WILL GET MAD. Be civil and also talk to the other side. Be kind and make friends, if you have a good group, you will be laughing and joking with people on the opposite side. Have fun, if you don't want to always talk, don't instead give the main speakers ideas. Hope you have fun!

im gonna start MUN sophmore year and after watching this video, I just realised its gonna be much harder than what i thought it would be and I also realized that there is going to be a lot of research for me to do. I am starting to rethink my decision on joining.

its not ilegal to write it before hand, its just dumb cuz you never know who you will write it with and what you will end up doing but its always good to have a draft resolution so you have a plan.

It just depend on your MUN advisor because in my MUN you make always write you’re resolution before.
