This song was written by Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange around a piece of film music by composer Michael Kamen. This trio of songwriters, went on to have 3 number one records during the 1990's. Sadly Kamen died of multiple sclerosis in 2003, Adams says "Losing Michael was like losing a brother, and I think of him every time I sing this song."
This video was filmed in Miami, Florida 1992, directed by Andy Morahan.

You know, I was in my car a few weeks ago, on my way to an event. I was feeling very overwhelmed and lost with some personal things that had been happening. I was on the verge of tears when I asked God to play a song he knew I needed to hear. My radio station changed and this song was playing. What's funny is that I thought my radio was glitching and as I was turning the station back to the one I originally had on, the realization hit me. I started laughing at myself for not recognizing that He answered me. I also felt my worries ease too. I saw several comments of people explaining why this song has special meaning to them and some of the things they have gone through, especially loss of a loved one. My old man used to work as part of a stage crew (Stage Miracles) who handled basically every big band who toured in the UK from the late 70s to late 80s. He met and hung out with all manner of people from Ozzy Osbourne to Dave Gilmour and until the day he died he held firm that Bryan Adams was the soundest guy he'd ever met. Stayed after the show to help the lads 'take the stage down' and then took them all out for tea and food when they were done at a nearby cafe. What a class act.

This song is 100% my wife. I lost her a day ago, November 13th, 2022, and even in death, she gave of herself as an organ donor. Three people's lives were saved because of her gracious donations. I will love her forever.

I turn 50 in a couple weeks and I just seen a video of Bryan singing so I'm listening to his songs I haven't heard in many years. Never considered myself a huge fan, I liked most of his music just was into heavier stuff, that being said, listening to these songs makes me realize his music was the soundtrack to my youth. Wow it takes me back to a simpler time when the sky was the limit. Kids these days have no clue what they missed not growing up in the 80s and early 90s.
Adams doesnt get the praise he deserves. So many great songs and the coolest voice. God bless
