Honestly you don't need 4K resolution. 1080p is fine hell even 720p is ok. So slim is the right choice

Just want to add: i have both the slim and the original ps4 and there is one item that is rarely mentioned that the slim has an advantage over the original ps4 and that is wireless networking. The ps4 slim can now connect to 5ghz wireless networks whereas the original ps4 can only connect to 2.4ghz wireless networks. Now this should not be an issue if you use LAN for your ps4 but for those who use wifi for their ps4 and has 5ghz networks they can definitely feel the difference in wireless performance. My original ps4 disconnects almost 2x as much as my slim one (i use wifi because im too lazy to lay out LAN cables throughout my house). Hope this helps some guys out there.

Also it may not look at it on paper but the slim is way lighter than the original ps4 so if you travel alot and would like to bring ur ps4 along the slim is the way to go.

I have the standard PS4, I love it because it looks very awesome and its edges are kind of sharp. And I love how the light strip is on the top. The only flaw is, well, you know, the fan. Like, it feels like its gonna explode if it runs bit longer. (Its all my opinion, you're the boss of yours!)
