Clone Troopers were the force behind the Clone Wars that helped the Jedi. However, before the Clone Troopers, there was to be another species that would have had their place. These beings were extremely powerful and we can see why Plagueis and Palpatine wanted them over any other being, and also, why their first choice, never worked out.

I preferred the Legends version of Order 66 where the clones had free will and most of them killed the Jedi out of loyalty to the Chancellor and the Republic or they obeyed because they hated the Jedi and how they were treated by them. Some hesitated and others outright refused, due to various reasons such as believing in a conspiracy against the Jedi, because their general was fair and treated them well, or because they simply couldn't bring themselves to kill someone they had spent years fighting alongside. Still, Canon is good, but in this case I prefer Legends.

This kind of makes me agree with Count Dooku's view that the jedi were doomed. The sith were always planning nothing but the destruction of jedi, but the jedi would never properly commit to destroying the sith, and that's the reason the jedi will probably never truly win, because they wuold never sacrifice everything to destroy their enemy.

The Yinchori Army might have worked, but one thing Palpatine used to keep order and systems in line was xenophobia; it was easier to keep the “lesser” species in line when ALL the Clones and Stormtroopers were human.
