I just don't see it. I mean, certainly it's the best printer if money is no object. But resin printing isn't like FDM printing- It's already a lot easier. When the Bambu X1 was new and Bambu's only offering, it was a terrific upgrade over the various $200-$500 ender 3 derivatives that had the market locked up. But comparing HeyGears to Elegoo's offerings, I feel like HeyGears has priced themselves above the prosumer market and into the lowest end of the enterprise market.

Have you replaced the screen yet? I'm curious what the lifespan of the screens are, and how easy they are to replace. I've been spoiled by DLP and not having to worry about it.

This is a "trying to be" of the Formlabs Form4. That machine has resins that are pretty proprietary to Form4, but it'll let you adjust exposure for other resins. That said, there's a huge price difference. Proprietary resin printers really come down to the quality of the resin. If that is top notch for what you need, then you know you'll get great prints every time.

What you’re saying reminds me a lot of what makes Formlab printers so good: dialed in resins (proprietary), good hardware, and amazing support. HeyGears seems to have taken that approach but made it a little more affordable.

I got the $200 discount, butyou only get 1 free bottle of PARP10, not 2. Not sure if im doing something right or wrong here, i even tried removing the free gifted PARP10 but it keeps reappearing as one, also tried adding more PARP10 resin and i still gotta pay for it, any idea why?

‘Getting on with my Hobby is’ the reason I walked from resin for a couple years now… but just like the X1C it is too steep in price for the volume available. A1 is the sweetest spot where the getting on doesn’t break the bank and I can put the money into the materials I want the finished products to be.

GK3 sounds tempting but is equivalent to the CR-10 in getting on with getting on.

Next spring sounds like the time to reevaluate, if this innovation keeps pace Resin can become at tool and not a project itself.

Nice job Ross. You've convinced me and overcome all of my objections. Unfortunately, I've got three resin printers now (two of them brand new) and I'm not in the market for another. But for those who are in the market and serious enough to lay down $1, 400, this is very valuable information. You've hit upon the philosophy perfectly. I want a user experience from soup to nuts that is clearly superior to the alternatives at the price or under, and I'm willing to spend more to get it. Too bad HeyGears doesn't have a half price version that has 95% of the goodness like Bambu does.

Ok it makes sense, just buy and print, I'm sick of FDM thays why im waiting for new bamboolab big size or maybe a creality since they have now one. I spend ton of time with my m3 max and still didnt get the perfect output like layer streaching where u see the lines.

Thanks for the video and your insight. You recommend the printer, but what is your opinion on their wash and cure station? Are they as worthwhile or is there another brand you could recommend for much cheaper and an identical experience. They did not seem too "revolutionary."
