Long Comment Warning Ahead:
Woo! Seeing a tut on this method brings back my Rubiks Days.

Step 1 (Small Block):
I create a 2x2 block, and attach it to the remaining edge block. I still find it easier to inspect that than the Roux Block.

Step 2 (Big Block):
I disagree with how you did the block. The principle that sold me to Petrus was "You're solving stuff WITHOUT BREAKING what you have already solved (except for EO and Last Layer)."
It's what he criticized about Cross-Solving.

One thing about the first 2 steps: Since I came from Beginners, I developed a bad habit of "rotating all over the cube to find my pieces".
I didn't care about Speed-solving, sure. But even back then, I didn't like it.

Step 3a (EO):
Now I'm in the hazy memory territory. It's so intuitive that I used to remember all the algs of each case by heart... now I don't.
All I know is
1. you only have to look at the Top and Front Centers.
2. Look only for the bad edges... in principle it's easier.
3. It's always even

Step 3b (The rest of F2L):
I also developed a bad habit here (mostly because that's how Petrus' website did the tutorial).
My last layer was R Face!
Having tried the method after how many years, RM is STILL my Petrus "F2L"!

Step 4:
Then I pretty much rotate the cube to solve normal Last Layer... Of course, no CFOP background so I basically I never went past Sune-OLLs + 2L-PLL.
