I figured any gamer channel needs a Rubik's Cube video for initiation. heh! I hope mine is a bit different from the rest.

Love the tutorial so far, because I don't have to remember a ton of algorithms. However, I'm stuck on step four. I can't seem to figure out how to solve the corners and still marry the edge pieces. I rotate one side and it's already shot. Any suggestions on what I'm not getting?

I’m learning cfop with 2 look oll and pll. I do the cross and f2l intuitively and when memorizing algorithms, I don’t memorize the last few steps and leave them up to me to solve intuitively. I find the more you solve intuitively the easier it gets because if you mess up, you can find your way back. Even though I’m not using this method, the intuitive side is really helping me. A general tip: just learn the gist of multiple methods and you’ll see that you can combine them to make your solve easier and faster.

I know this is meant to be for solving cubes by hand but this was super helpful for the program I wrote that can solve any cube. Seriously you have no idea how many people just say eyeball it and don’t actually explain what moves are currently legal. Thanks man, you got me an A in my AI class.

I love this method and your tutorial the most, but I somehow end up losing the cross on the last layer after I've successfully solved the first two layers. But there are times the cross is still intact (very rare occasions) then its so very easy to finish solving the cube. So any tips on how not to lose the cross while solving step 5? Hope to hear from you.

I made a variant of this method where you solve the edges of the 2x2x3 and then keyhole in the corners. If blockbuilding is hard for you, I recommend trying it out.

Excellent tutorial, by following along I've managed to solve my cube - not quite sure that I will be able to replicate it after one viewing, but I think if I go through it again, I'll get the hang of it. Thank you :-)

I agree with the forgetting part....
I was a CFOP user average 20s and stopped cubing for a year after that I forgot most of the algorithms as time passed. Im now here to look at the other methods :s

I'm definitely a geek I use Friedrich method solve in about 30 seconds Even when I forget the algorithms after a year I never forgot f2l and once I get to last layer the rest of the cube is intuitive

Once you get to the last step you could do one of the beginner methods last steps with the 3 edges and 1 solved
