Remember that sales tax/VAT of 5% is included in these prices whereas US prices usually exclude local taxes

Kids at the end are having a blast. Always good to see happy folks. Be safe and have a great trip both of you! Look forward to seeing coverage and more vlogs as well. What an amazing experience.

Quite often, it’s just great to be able to watch real raw video footage like it just happened vs overly edited videos. Enjoy the sights. It was funny that on the observation deck, literally every human it seems had a cellphone in their hands.

Glad you guys are enjoying Taipei... I'm surprised you didn't show the build lab in Syntrend.
Most of the stores in Guanghua you can usually try to haggle though. CoolPC is where I bought hardware (they have regular sales and are like a Newegg in the US).
There are some deals for items actually made in Taiwan. If you're a custom keyboard enthusiast, there are actually some physical stores! Last time I was at inPad, they had a prototype Zoom75 on display.

Yeah, pricing is about the same here in Hong Kong. Sad fact is retailers will price it roughly equivalent to what we'd have to pay if we bought it from Amazon/Newegg + shipping (nevermind that Amazon offers free shipping to HK).

Thanks for the Vlog! As someone who grew up there but now live in Australia, don't really remember much. It's really nice to see more of the city and country again x3

Definitely hope to go back myself some day!

I went to Taiwan with my Chinese mainlander girlfriend back in 2019. I absolutely loved the country. It's basically the good version of mainland China. Going there has made me really care about their plight with mainland China constantly threatening them with war all the time.

Dude, huge round of applause to Joe, he's such a trooper. The energy after such a long flight 😂. Good luck you guys, hope you have time to enjoy and relax too!

Taiwanese here, I do find it weird with all main head quarters in Taiwan, that all our stuff is more expensive than ebay amazon with shipping. Might be some weird import taxing i suppose.

Great vid guys. I always love the travel Vlogs. It's amazing to see you guys back at it after the shutdowns as well. It's reassuring, and maybe the computer industry can start getting back to normal as well.

13:04 guy in the background videobombing with a thumbs up. Also, thought i recognised that first store, it's the same store that Steve bought his editor a 4090 in.

Dope blog and I can't wait for the rest of your content from the week. I've been up a few tall buildings so far, and now Taipei 101 is on my list thanks to you and Joe!

2:43 Joe unfortunately do believe it’s not allowed to cook steak “to order” on airplane and everything is cooked on ground up to 10 hrs or so, etc…..prior to takeoff. So, the food is cooked 80% of ya for poultry and think 30-50% of way for beef/pork and then when time to eat the trays are placed inside a super sealed convection oven (that might be a pressure convection oven….just don’t recall, as been 20+ yrs since helped chefs cook/prepare meals for airlines) and after 10-20 mins the food is pulled and served in staggered batches so “kitchen ain’t slammed” and ppl, aren’t waiting forever for their food. Do remember the days when on some 747s, there were a few microwaves; which not a thing in todays world….no microwaves allowed in airplanes anymore, but just think about that one, lol.
Hope had amazing trip, cuz the trip getting there and home is fun stuff and everything in b/t is the bonus extras you just find cool, awesomeness, and funner, like a double stuffed Oreo, that’s how describe traveling to “shows/conventions/etc….” For different areas of trades, skills, jobs, etc…..
Cheers y’all L8R ✌🏻🙏🏻

Sales tax in Taiwan is 5% and is included in the price, that is part of the price difference. Sales tax in The Netherlands, just as another example, is 21% (yeah i know, crazy that's why i moved out) and is also included in the prices..
