they really went ham with the copyright strikes on this one so this is the only way i could get it to upload. sorry yall, it annoys me too

i was able to find a translation for the ADV dub's german again, but netflix gave me ZILCH and she talks a lot faster this time, so i missed a bunch. i think i did about as well as i could without any background in german, but thankfully some folks helped me fill in the gaps in the comments section!

WOW the girl from Netflix dub knows how to pronounce the "ü" correctly in "Tschüss". That's the first time I ever heard an english speaking person do that!

i am german and i almost couldnt understand what she said in the adv dub, netflix's dub was easy to understand and almost flawless in terms of pronounciation.

The best version has to be the German one, because everybody talks German and when Asuka answers the call, she speaks german and Shinji can't understand her xD

The phone call in the German dub is actually really fantastic. The german voice actor put an incredible amount of character switch into the call.

Netflix dub got the voices a lot closer to the original Japanese, but ADV will always hold a special place in my heart. Netflix subs are a war crime tho

I personally like the netflix dub better actually? The kids sound like kids and it's not as overdramatic sounding as the ADV one can get. Spike Spencer will always be legendary in performing Shinji, but Casey Mongillo is great too in my opinion. I get how people think this dub has less personality, because you're right, it does. The direction is DIFFERENT, and different doesn't always equal bad.

....The netflix subs though? Oh that's another can of worms

As a German, I declare that the adv dub has better pronunciation while the Netflix dub has actually correct grammar. Make of that whatever you will.

Both sounds horrible for a native german speaker.
But the Netflix dub is a little bit better.

The parts you're missing in the subs for the Netflix dub goes: "Und wie geht es dir? Soll ich ihn dir mal vorstellen?" Translated: "How about you? *Chuckles* Shall I introduce him to you?"

Script changes, huh? Both dubs sound WAY better than the original. Yuko cannot speak German to save her life.
