Neon Genesis Evangelion helped my depression at one point. Don’t want to go into details but I saw myself in Shinji and thought I should help myself. So for that I’m entirely grateful for Evangelion!

I got chills watching this. Evangelion was such an emotional experience for me because I’ve hated myself for as long as I can remember, and seeing Shinji hate himself so much has made me relate so damn much to him. It was like looking in a mirror

i liked eva cause I didn't relate to just one perticular character but little bits and pieces of all of them. This kept me at a safe enough distance from going batshit crazy everytime something relatable happened because I could relate to only parts of it. Evangelion made me realise I am nothing but a bunch of memories. I am made of memories.

This is probably why it's still talked about. He spilled his guts and people can connect with that.
