The Qashqai appears a worthy winner but why wasn't the 1.5 litre Kamiq used in this comparison? It seems the more appropriate choice given the competition.

Bit of a strange comparison.
The SUV's are quite big, while the Kamiq is still the smallest.
Looking up the prices, if you want all 4 cars to be relatively the same in terms of equipment/luxury, the other cars are about 10K to 15K more expensive than the Kamiq.
Thats a bit insane.

JATCO CVT in the Nissan is a firm no. The Corolla Cross hybrid is a highly competitive, faster, and more reliable choice.

Buen trabajo, felicidades. Durante las pruegas del Kamiq habeis notado crujidos o ruidos extraños en salpicadero o habitaculo, gracias

Drive staff, can you compare headlights at night in future video's ? 100kms on freeway for instance.

Great video but can the new Qashqai really be considered a 'small' SUV these days? I know there's probably a cut-off for official sizes, but the Kamiq is 1793mm wide and the Qashqai is 1835mm wide. it's closer in size to the RAV4 than it is to the Kamiq and HR-V.

The Nissan Qashqai has considerably been improved by Quality and Outfit besides the good design and look.
It is now very competitive with the worldwide increasing numbers of SUV resp.Crossovers.
Well done, Nissan.

Nissan 1.3 l engine in the Qashqai is ok, but not great in terms of economics. In higher temps its alright but in winter in Europe or on the highway it starts to sip a lot of fuel...the 1.5 l from the VW parts bin is much better in that regard...what's good about the Nissan engine is it's refinement and damping in the Qashqai...much better than the noisy 1.5 in the Tiguan e.g.

If the Cherokee fixed the transmission, the trailhawk should be the best

A small turbocharged engine and a Jatco CVT is Drive car of the year. You have got to be joking. I think the Drive judges need an engineering lesson and a history lesson in automotive reliability.

Yes, well, BUT what does Nissan + CVT equate too? From what history tells us it equates to an eventual Transmission Failure. It is not a question of IF, it is a question of WHEN. Most Nissan CVTs have failed, some quickly, some not so quickly. We must always remember that these kinds of car awards do not take reliability, dependability and cost of ownership into account. I will consider Nissan once it provides me a minimum 10 years unlimited km warranty.

As you are judging vehicles, an indipendent professional mechanics' assessment should have been in consideration.
