One area that is rarely considered is reliability. It is all nice that the vehicle is spacious and has cool tech but if it is in the shop or parked by the side of the road to frequently then none of that matters.

After 5 years of ownership the CRV would be on top of consumer list, the biggest mistake they’ve made is the pricing point.

If you don't mind a smaller space and the fuel economy. I think CX-5 is such a great car with top tier build quality, amazing HP with the turbo engine, great handling, soft/comfy ride, very quiet/well insulated cabin, known reliability with SkyActive engines and a solid sound system. Mazda's attention to detail and putting so much effort into R&D on their cars really wins me over. I don't care paying few extra bucks at the pump so it's my personal No.1 for sure!

Just purchased the Tucson N-Line hybrid only a week ago and absolutely love it so far. And good to hear your comparisons on these SUVs. Thanks so much guys.

Thanks Guys overall dimensions are important for some garages. We have a limit in our garage of 208" so this is critical and some people may not be thinking abut this. Also warranty are important.

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi outlander with 234, 000 miles. The motor and transmission still work great. But it's time for an update. I'm glad the new Mitsubishi made the list since I had a great experience with the 2008 . And it made your top 3 ! Thanks for the reviews.

I see why Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage score higher in Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV realiability, quality, luxury, price, and warranty. 1.2 m recalls from toyota for airbags deployed again and 2.5m recalls from Honda fuel pump failures. So that beats this toyota and honda rhetoric nonsense.

Your ratings are based on aesthetics and looks of the cars. I am more concerned about reliability, recalls and operation of the car. You might buy a very nice car fully loaded, but you might get a lemon. That is why the top two cars on your list do not hold a good resale value. I believe your reviews are misleading for novice buyers or for buyers who do not have a knowledge of cars.

For me, exterior looks/sportiness, interior luxuriousness, reliability, gas mileage, and value are the most important. IMO, cargo should be fairly similar within the same class, so that doesn't matter as much to me. Luxury and technology seem to cover similar things to me. Rogue, Rav4, and Tucson definitely top of my list!!! Love your vids

Started shopping last fall (Sep '23) for a "compact Hybrid SUV" with priority given to cargo room. Our top 4 options were Rav4, CRV, Tucson and Sportage (again, all Hybrid models). Final choice: Sportage EX Hybrid, and we went on a "2 -3 month waiting list" in October: vehicle is now targeted for delivery at the end of Feb (and will be a 2024 model).
The Sportage will be our third hybrid model (technically the hybrids have been my "wife's cars"): first a 2006 Prius (which she loved), and currently a 2017 Ioniq (which she loves Even More than the Prius!). The Ioniq has around 75, 000 miles on it, has been largely trouble free (nothing serious, although just replaced rear brakes last week), and we will keep it as a daily commuter, using the Sportage for trips (hence the desire for more cargo space).
We took a test drive in a '23 Sportage EX (Hybrid) and were very impressed with the performance and ride (relatively speaking, of course), and our experience with the '17 Ioniq suggests that the Kia (Hyundai) hybrid system is Likely to be reliable. A "real" transmission - vs CVT - and 18" wheels were also selling points: the 19" wheels on Tucson & Sportage SX don't seem practical given the overall condition of Michigan roadways, AND we enjoy camping, which often involves driving on some rather poor secondary / gravel roads.
YMMV....

You can find all these cars on a lot any day of the week except for the sportage hybrid. There has to be a reason for that. Sold before it even hits the lot. Pre-orders like I have never seen before.
