I was 17 years old and spent all of my spare time outside of school and my part-time job doing absolutely nothing but playing guitar… The good all days, as it were.

Love these. Stryper is amazing. Their guitar tone has the sound of a half cocked wah pedal. Not really my cup of tea but very unique. Michael sweet is a very amazing musician. Kinda crazy to be that good at both singing and lead guitar.

Adrian’s guitar is his Fernandes signature model

- here in the UK, I went to school with Steve Howe's son, Virgil.
Steve was always a lovely dude, and later when I started playing, it meant a lot to have met him so casually and regularly.
Always great vids, mate. Big Love from England!

Vivian Campbell was playing a Rand. SICK boutique instrument, but very rare and they haven't been made in ages. If you get a chance to check one out, do it. That was Adrian's Fernandes signature. He was with them for a few days until Peavey won him over. 😂

What? So You're not gonna mention the dean markley ad with the gorgeous brunette leaning on the amp? That ad was total class. I miss the 80's so damn bad!

Vivian’s guitar on the cover was by Rand I believe. Before he endorsed Kramer.

Epic! I grew up on that album. I was a drummer back then but am learning 'Still' on guitar now and loving it! The Cult's 'Electric' was a great rock n roll album btw.

I was 15 and bought all these magazines for years. Still have a few.

I have this issue! So cool. I also have a FX-17 wah/volume pedal. I also vaguely remember Striper from MTV. They both apparently play GMW guitars these days.
Orwigsburg, PA! I have been there. My ex's parents have a weekend place near there.
Maybe Vivian kept talking about Trinity with the feeling he would eventually be back in that band after his stint in Whitesnake?

I was 13 years old...such a great time in rock music and guitar! That first Riverdogs album was awesome.

Nice. I have hundreds of 80s guitars mags, which I Iove to look through. Guitar World, Guitar Player, and Guitars Practicing Musicians. Had subscriptions to all for most of the decade. And I will never get rid of them

That Fernandez guitar (the black, red and white one) is in display at Buenos Aires Hard Rock Cafe at Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery Airport

Very interesting and informative. Whenever Sykes is mentioned it catches my ear. But I am 50, it is probably just nostalgia after all.

Viv’s guitar on the cover is a Rand. He had to give it back not too long after. Rand gave him a green one. Then Buddy Blaze gave him the blue Shredder VC-1. Buddy also took that back( He recently gave it back to Viv). That guitar became the nightswan. There is a gear video on Def Leppard’s channel from Jan 2021 where he shows the blue one and talks about all this.

Man I love these videos!! John Sykes is the soul of that Whitesnake´s album. period.

I have that DOD Fx17 too, It was my first wah and I still have it!! And take a look to the song To Hell with the Devil to see the powerful talent of Michael Sweat´s voice, jeeeez I saw Styper in Spain and that guy has a gift, and when they finished the gig they threw bibles at the audience and hit me on the head, he also has a good aim... :)
