I'm happy to call someone "Dr. Sloan" out of respect...but I get suspicious of anyone who introduces themselves as "Dr. Sumner Sloan". It's like they're so insecure about their status that they insist on strangers calling them by this elevated title. Are you actually good at world literature? Is it even worth having a Ph.D in that field?
