This was a show that never disappointed. Every single episode was funny, fresh and never took itself too seriously.

I had a pub in the UK....when we left the customers spontaneously sang the Cheers theme it now brings back so many happy memories of the pub, the customers and of course the show itself. The great things about Cheers is that its humour doesn't age and the characters were so true to life. Both are very rare in TV comedy.

I was 14 when the show started. I didn't miss an episode until I went to Parris Island in March 1988. When Sam said "sorry, we're closed", that was the second time I almost shed a tear. The first time was when Hawkeye saw "goodbye" from the helicopter.
I really miss good shows. I doubt there will ever be anything that can compare to Cheers, Mash and Seinfeld. I rarely watch anything other than MeTv.

It's fascinating to see how the cast of Cheers has evolved over the past 41 years. From the charming Sam Malone to the witty Diane Chambers, the transformations are remarkable. While some cast members have sadly passed away, their performances continue to resonate, showcasing their enduring impact on television history.

I am firmly convinced that Cheers is the best US Sitcom there has ever been. I grew up on it the first time around and have watched it from start to finish many times over the decades. Its truly a remarkable achievement to have 11 seasons set almost exclusively in just one room. The writing and jokes are as funny to me now as they were almost 40 years ago. Its near perfection imo, I much preferred the Sam and Diane period over the Sam and Rebecca period but it still continued its high quality even after Diane had departed. Its easily my top US sitcom, plus Lilith was always hot !

I love the whole series (which I have on dvd) and Shelley sent me a lovely signed picture of herself some years ago. Fantastic cast - and one of the best sitcoms of all time.

I have it on DVD along with TAXI, Night Court, Frasier, etc. When I am feeling down, I binge watch and they always make me feel better. They don't...can't...make them like that.

Diane was a great character, but Rebecca Howe was much funnier in my opinion. Both actresses did a great job at portraying their assigned characters.

My family were Cheers fans since the first episode and when Woody came on the scene we all knew he had star power! There was just something about him so I'm not surprised at all at how his career has turned out!

The show encapsulated everything certain people experience where you can feel comfortable being on your going to a place where everyone really does know your name ... its like a warm blanket....

In 1991, I had traveled to China. Many people there had satellite dishes and watched American TV. One gentleman who asked where I lived, couldnt place Connecticut, so I explained it was between New York and Boston. He smiled and said: “Boston! Cheers!”

What an iconic show, legendary cast. So beloved. I was pretty young but remember the show well. Wish there were shows like this again. Never will.

Still have a copy of the final episode on VHS from the night it aired.
Rarely missed an episode - and never tire of re-watching favorite ones.

One of the best episodes was when Cliff was on Jeopardy! I thought I would not stop laughing.

This was based on a real pub in Boston. There was only one of the actors from New England, John Ratsenberger, who was from Connecticut. The show ended the same day that the real Cheers closed its doors. Even though I was 13 at the time, my friends and I loved this show.
