Advice: when you get frustrated with your art, just let loose and make funky random art (make sure ur having fun with it) this is fun and can remind you why you started doing art in the first place

Tip: you know when u wash ur brushes with water then they still turn rock hard i have a solution: wash them with nail polish remover it dries but doesn’t get hard

I remember those times I used to trace and then started one time I decided to watch tutorials and then I finally made art that isn't traced but someone said "the head is too big" and now I am so unmotivated- but watching these videos gives me so much inspiration

Just to clarify on the marker base for coloured pencils, you can also do it in reverse and use the pencil as a base.

Marker over the top will essentially cause the alcohol to melt the wax or oil in the same was as brushing it with mineral spirits would. Also has the added effect of creating a thicker layer to help stop the marker bleeding through.

whenever i do a sketch it always turns out better than the final product even if i use pen pressure

5:28 you can just apply water (like, a LOT of water. I practically filled the cup to the brim with water) to the paint, mix it with the dried paint and let it hydrate. Itll be good as new within the next couple days.

The nose one was really good, one time i wasnt having a good day and decided to draw shreck and drew the nose first, EVERYTHING else went soooo smooth, drawing faces got so much easyer
