My stepfather, of 6 weeks, attempted to retrieve a 5, 000.00 insurance policy that my mother had. I found out about the insurance when the check arrived to me and my brother who my mother put down as her beneficiaries. The letter that came with it also stated that he tried to claim it but was denied. He made that attempt only a few days after her death. He was a real piece of work and also did his best to take advantage of a dying woman.

Community property means nothing in California if you died without a will or trust, all property is liquidated then divided amongst the heirs, also I think there is a problem because they were only married three years. This is a probate case and plaintiffs and her siblings may deserve more than they are seeking.

How can people not see when they talk out of both sides of their mouths?!?
Defendant: he had nothing when I met him, just garage sale furniture… nothing (implying she bought everything and they had money only because of her).

Also the defendant: I had nothing, I didn’t have any money … (the complete opposite because that’s what she thinks will serve her well).

if the daughter was a bad daughter it doesn't matter the law is the law the daughter will get the karma if she deserves it. just because she doesn't deserve the money doesn't mean she is not legal entitled to it
