With so much content out there and demand for new, engaging content growing, it can be hard for someone marketing a small business, running a blog, or helping out clients to know where to begin. Well, this video is going to show you exactly where to start.

A great place to start when building a content plan is by taking a look at the competition. Understanding which keywords your competitors are focusing on can clue you in to areas you may be lacking content, and missing out on capturing your potential customers.

The first Semrush tool you're going to use is our Keyword Gap Tool.
A great tool that compares your site with your competitors’ and shows keywords that you share, and most importantly, ones that you are missing. Now, this tool will actually suggest competitor’s here that you can compare your site to. So, even if you don’t have an exact idea of who to compare yourself to, the tool takes care of that for you.

Clicking on a keyword is going to take us to the Keyword Overview tool. This tool shows helpful stats about that particular keyword, such as search volume and difficulty score. The Questions section can provide very useful insights into the questions people are asking about your keyword. Understanding what information people are searching for, what questions they want answered, can guide your content writing. Your content should provide valuable information to people asking these questions. Add these keywords to your keyword list.

Clicking on the name of your keyword list is going to bring you directly to the Keyword Manager Tool, where all of the keywords are compiled, along with key metrics.

By following these steps you should be able to easily create a content plan, and even create some of the content.

When I saw SemRush, I hesitated to watch the video knowing it wouldn’t be an actual content strategy but instead a SemRush ad.

What isn’t mentioned is that you have to purchase Guru to get these content marketing functionalities. Super frustrating and I’m not sure the value is there without these tools built into the regular plan.

Hey mate thx a lot for the knowledge. I'd like to ask you a question. I'm a bilingual and I've found on semrush a niche that has a 58% keyword difficulty and 300k volume in the US alone! This very same niche tho in Italy has a 28% keyword difficulty but only a 18k volume. Do you reckon I should write my website in Italian or in English? Should I aim for that massive volume or that low competition? I'd really appreciate if you could give me a tip here :). Subscribed!

I love SEMrush but u don't share global traffic of keywords. Also I can't search multiple keywords at once like Google keyword planner

sir, i have few question, i find more then 10 keyword which is related tool, and the keyowrd difficulty is 24 to 30 and the pages which is rank on serp they have max 20 to 50 links, but the question is the site who rank in top 10 their domain age is 5 to 10 years so sir if i buy the new fresh domain and build a site and build a links so can i beat them for fresh domain ??
