How to ACTUALLY Clean Your Room - Step By Step

In a previous video where I took an individual photo of everything I own, I completely decimated my room in the process, lol, and as I embark on this series of learning minimalism, I figure the best way to start is too share my step-by-step process on how to clean your room; no cap; how to ACTUALLY clean do it.

🚨Brand New Facebook Group To Help Each Other Get It Together:

I have way too much stuff in general. It's not ok. So although, no matter what, I'm going to be doing some spring cleaning, I want to figure out if creating the processes and systems to support a minimalist lifestyle is sustainable and positive for me.

This series is going to be sharing my journey of learning, building new habits, and setting expectations that I hope will have a positive ripple effect throughout all other areas of my life.

I feel like I have a lot of clutter, both in my physical space, as well as in my head, and have, over the past few years, realized that one of the keys to happiness is simplicity; no drama, no complication. And although I think I'm on the right track, at least from a work and relationships perspective, I've always been someone who likes to collect things, buy things, and way-too-easily justify acquiring new things.

Forget how wasteful it is from a personal financial standpoint, it's wasteful for society, and the world. Seeing dollar-store shelves really makes me wonder, who's making all this stuff? Who's buying all this stuff? How long is it used before it ends up in the trash can?

I think, even from a selfish perspective, we should all consider the state of consumerism, how much money we spend, how to save money, how to stop shopping, to stop being wasteful, and simply considering and being conscious of everything we have, and how to build good habits. Knowing and being aware of everything we own might be a great place to start. It's where I'm starting and I can't wait to see what I learn!

Being overwhelmed about where to start is usually the thing that keeps most people from tidying up.

i really struggle with adhd and not being able to keep my space clean which can get really stressful. this was really helpful for breaking down the overwhelming multistep task of just “cleaning my room” into individual steps that i can actually accomplish

I needed this, It all started with one bottle of water, It slipped under my bed and i was like "eh it's just a bottle it doesn't matter" and then other one and other one and my bedroom became a wasteland overtime.
Thank you for this video, Now my room looks like someone lives in it and not like it has been abandoned for centuries!

As someone who kept a tortilla and a chip in a photo binder as a kid because I liked the shapes, I really struggle throwing away anything.

Improving slightly but man it will take a lot of work to get use to getting rid of stuff.

I was amazed by the results of following the tips from this video. My room looked like a mess before, but now it is neat and organized. I learned how to declutter, sort, and store my belongings in a way that makes sense and saves space. I feel more relaxed and productive in my clean environment. This video was very helpful and informative.

It's the quiet desperation for me... And it really reminds me that it's all more effective if you get excited and tie the accountability into something else that major, but not life shattering. We're witnessing strategy. Great example.

Using your bed to organize is a huge tip.

Also, I like to use boxes to categorize things. I have a bunch of random camera things or dirt bike parts. My tip is to use a small box and fill it with like items. Once it’s full, you can get a bigger box and put everything in it or get another box. You can then set the box aside with a label and stack them as needed. You can eventually figure out where to put them or organize later on. But this at least gets it out of the way and stacking the box will make lots of room to continue cleaning.

It’s been at least one month since I’ve seen this video. I’m watching it again sitting in my clean room and I have come to the conclusion that for the first time in my life I have almost all the steps done already and I have stayed consistent throughout the month. I barely have to do any of the steps now and I’ve improved so much. This helped me a lot. Thank you.
