While you may want to clean your smartphone, some substances can damage the device.

Dr Lena Ciric, a microbiologist from University College London, says you can effectively clean your phone using just household soap and water.

As many people have stated, I'm really surprised people rarely clean their phones. I used to not do it regularly but I tried doing it once a week. The fact that I place it on almost any surface, touch it anytime, others touching it, etc, means that it's just harbouring a plethora of germs and bacteria. Now, I'm making sure to disinfect it regularly. Washing your hands means nothing if you immediately touch your unclean phone afterwards. Then you touch your face, face mask, other people, etc. The spread of germs happens really fast, and we're not fully aware that we're all doing it.

My phone heats up like a geyser when i play heavy games so it automatically fries all the germs. Kinda.

Have been cleaning my phone for years but not with soap and water. I just use microfiber cloth, cotton wipes and antiseptic liquid in small amounts just enough to cover the entire surface. Quite funny to see that everyone has to do it now. 😊🤣

1. Tissue
2. Handwash
3. Put some handwash om tissue, small drops of water are poured on top
4. Slowly wipe surface and bottom of phone.
5. Wipe off the soap with another tissue

soap and water will damage ur phone if it gets into the port or speaker, isopropyl alcohol works very well and it will not damage ur phone

I just wipe carefully with alcohol prep pad, then wipe my fingertips with the pad before tossing it. Also wipe computer keyboard, home landline.

If your phone has IP68 protection you're probably inclined to just run water over it using the tap, which should remove most things. Thing is though, you'll probably get water into the charging port too, so don't charge your phone before making sure the port is completely dry.
