Habit Stacking is a highly effective way to build new habits by taking advantage of old ones. The habit stacking technique relies on building out a habit routine and subsequently stacking habits on top of each other to allow for easy adoption.

Habit Stacking was initially written about by S.J. Scott in his book Habit Stacking and also written about by James Clear, author of Atomic Habits. If you are wondering how to use habit stacking, this method unlike other habit building techniques, relies on a relationship between habits and routines. Simply put, after an existing habits, you add on a new habit to the tail end, subsequently building out a Routine that will allow you to stack habits.
