Hey guys, if you have a Mercedes Vehicle it is likely that you might have some transmission problems sooner or later. As a whole the 722.6 is a strong transmission but the electronic components might fail. If your car is stuck in LIMP Mode and does not shift it could be because of a leak in the wire, bad conductor plate, or bad solenoid. We demonstrated on a 2001 Mercedes ML320.

i had a shift problem on my W221 S500 2006, i replaced the 8 solenoids, recond ones, put them in at random, they only go in one way, (its a valve ) and it fixed my problem with the car, $185, - dollars for 8 on the net, and it worked perfect, good luck, cheers

Thank You. I have another question. I have a 2001 Mercedes S500 that has intermediate start problems. I will turn the key, the dash lights turn on however, the car sometimes won't crank or would attempt to crank then nothing. I have done a test to put the transmission into neutral then attempted to start again. The car started! Any suggestions what the problem is and what I do to fix the problem?

I own a c-class... c240. Easily the must unreliable car I have ever owned. Every 10, 000 (or less) something goes out. Completely unreliable. I recommend others to NEVER purchase a Mercedes.
UPDATE: 6, 500 trip... should be easy for any normal car. Went into limp mode AGAIN. JUNK
Will be driving it out to the range and using it for target practice. Never again Mercedes.

I changed to ATF with the filter and my car started two jerk from the first to the second and a slight bit from the second to the third I bought the fluids from Mercedes another thing I have done reset Adaptation using diagnostic tool what do you advise me to do to get rid of the Jerk I appreciate thank you so much

My mercedes E280 (W211, engine OM642, Transmission 722.9.02) can run OK for 15-20 minutes, then the gear failed to shift and stays on gear 1 or 2, engine RPM is up to 3000-3500 with speed 60km/hour. Look like the transmission got hot and it stops to shift? Do you think change the TCM conductor plate and/or Solenoid would fix it? Thx

First thing I would test is the TCM. I went through all this he does and still did not fix problem. I replaced mine and all is well now.
