My w221 s600 had a troublesome issue on transmission and was worried about spending a lot of money on repair.
Before taking it to the service center, I found this video, and the symptoms were completely resolved.
I can't thank you enough!

I just did this on the way home from work. Ride feels smoother, less resistance when accelerating and I look forward to how my C320's gonna drive now (it's an 02 with 72, 000 mi on it, or 116, 000 km's)

Thank you so much. I bought a clk 200 from a grandpa here in France and it is super slow 🤣. I was told to reset the gearbox.
This little engine is perfect for making the city with a nice car. Consumption of 23mpg 👍

This just happened to my 2013 SL550. Got in the car, turned it on, hit reverse, and nothing happened. Tried several times. Car would not go into gear. Followed these instructions and voila, it worked. Thanks so much for this.

Worked for me! Thanks so much for posting this video!! Before seeing this video, other guys were suggesting yanking out the conductor plate, buying expensive OBD diagnostic things, etc. I just hope it holds! I did have the conductor plate on this car replaced a couple of years ago (2002 320 E wagon with 311K miles on it). Gets me to wondering if this procedure would have fixed it that time...?

Nice video only one thing it’s base on your first 40 shifts after reset so you like to drive fast keep first 40 shift higher rpm above 2500 if not keep it below 2000 rpm for first 40 …
