I was making $15 a hour as a professional painter, they had a state job come up where we would make $45 an hour and I was left off the job to take care of the residential job's while guy's that were hired as summer help got to work there. No experience making 3 times what I was making. I asked why I was not getting any and the bosses daughter said that there was nothing for me to do there. 10 years with the company and not one single customer complaint is what I told her and walked out. Started painting on my own and am so much better off.

When an employee steals from the company they call it embezzlement but when a company steals from an employee they call it accounting.

Whoever was handling his paychecks needs to not only be fired but to compensate him the rest of the money he or she withheld from him.

It’s not ‘making it right’ until you go far back in his paystubs and make sure he gets back pay for every single check since his hire date. Saying that NOW they’re going to make sure he’s paid right ISNT ENOUGH.

I guarantee you that the top dogs at the company paychecks are never wrong.

I used to work for Mr. Rooter, and that is the same reason that I quit. Very frustrating to find your paycheck is small when you've busted your ass on jobs.

What shocks me is that a competent plumber is only making 500-600 weekly 😱. He could become independent and make that in a day or two.

Rooter job for $500/week? This dude needs to be in a movie or a voice over. His voice and accent are worth a lot.

I remember the owner of the company told all of his employees that there would be no raises or Christmas bonuses this year. The next day, the owner’s wife drives up in a new Corvette.

The company needs to compensate him for the agony they put him through by not paying him correctly all those times. Not being paid what you've earned is inexcusable.

He should've filed a complaint with the Dept of Labor for his state for all his unpaid, stolen wages. I wish more people did. Then these shady businesses wouldn't be in operation.

I was screaming when he said the word omg I would have died if I was her. The shame and anger I would have felt as a CEO. Glad she took action

As someone who has had smoke blown up my backside more than once I appreciate his honest skepticism at the end of the show.

This happened to me with Stanley Steemer 10+ years ago and is the EXACT reason I quit. I never paid it any attention until we did a HUGE job one day and my next 2 checks were around the same amount as every other check when it should've been much larger. They gave me some bs excuses and I gave them a resignation.

I'm a local plumber in San Mateo County California for 20 years experience. The company I work for sends me out to fix the problems that 99% of the other technicians can't fix I'm constantly saving accounts, and they send me to high-end jobs. But they won't give me a raise. I have help train multiple apprentices and they have gone to become service tecks after the first year they make what I make. In this industry you get so many false promises, at this point I have started the process on getting my own business the only way to make money in this industry is to start your own business.

About 10 years ago, I interviewed for a tech position with Mr. Rooter. During the interview with the owner of this franchise, he looks at my resume and application. I had at the time 20 years experience in being a plumbing tech and contractor. He fires a series of questions at me. I aced every question with dignity and respect. Then he proceeded to try and take my experience and toss it, saying I'll now be taught to do it the "right " way. I just smiled, got up and said sorry this interview is over. Good luck. Most Mr. Rooters are owned franchises. Watch and beware.
